How to Prepare for Your Reiki Session
Reiki carries many benefits, and often times these benefits can be felt during or immediately after your session. However, for some, the benefits aren't realized or recognized for a few days after your session. Reiki Energy will work on your energy system the way it's supposed to, at the most opportune time for your healing. Trust the process, and be sure to prepare yourself for your session by following these simple steps:
1. Tune In
Before your session, check in with how your body is feeling. Where are you holding on to tension? Are you experiencing pain? Are you noticing any emotions or thoughts that make you uncomfortable? Be sure to share what comes up with your practitioner when you arrive. It is important that you are open and honest with what you want to address so that we may help you in the best way possible.
2. Stay Nourished
Be sure you are nourished and hydrated. Tummy grumbles and thirst can get in the way of your body's ability to relax. However, avoid eating fatty, fried foods before your session. Instead, choose foods that are easy for your body to digest.
3. Choose Comfort
Be sure you are wearing comfortable clothes. Be prepared to remove jewelry, watches, and other metals from your body prior to your session. You may want to have a pair of socks handy as you'll be removing your shoes. Otherwise, you will remain fully clothed for your session.
Be sure to use the restroom before the session, and if the position you are in for your session is uncomfortable in any way, please tell your practitioner.
